Many years ago the donkeys of Ireland were seen as the most sturdy, strong and hardworking farm animal you
could keep. They had to haul the peat for the fire, the seaweed to fertilize the poor ground along the west coat
and pull the cart to wherever to road was going...

Nowadays there are only a few working donkeys left in Ireland, most of the donkeys are just kept as pets.
